Inclusive Hiring in Academic Libraries: A Qualitative Analysis of Attitudes and Reflections of Search Committee Members

Academic librarian hiring processes are designed to allow institutions learn about candidates through a multiple-round process, but often these not with the in mind. This paper uses qualitative approach interpret and understand how attitudes of search committee members shape on-campus interview practices, particular focus on practices create barriers inclusivity. Library employees who recently served academic committees were recruited respond questionnaire, text analysis responses open-ended questions was performed identify themes hiring.
